Dr. Ron Weiser (KH)

Committee Member

Dr. Ron Weiser was born in Sydney Australia, son of holocaust survivors. He is a practicing dentist. He has 35 years of communal involvement and activity encompassing a variety of organisations, including the B’nei Akiva Youth Movement and the State Zionist Council of NSW.

 

Ron has led the Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA) for the past ten years. In his capacity as President of the ZFA, Ron has greatly increased the standing of the ZFA and has directed the focus of the organization to formal and informal Jewish education. The ZFA under Ron’s leadership is also greatly involved with encouraging aliyah, hasbara and fundraising for Israel.  Ron was also integrally involved in the resolution of compensation and the other outstanding matters arising from the Maccabiah tragedy.

 

Mr. Weiser played an vital role in securing for Australia the most number of shlichim in order to continue developing informal education in the Zionist Youth Movements, schools and broader community.

 

Over the course of his communal involvement he has received many awards and most has recently been the recipient of the Herzl Award in its inaugural year, which was presented to him by President Katsav on his visit to Australia in 2005.

 

Dr. Weiser is an Assembly Member serving on Board Committees since 2005. he previously served as a Board member (1998-2002).
