John Fishel has been President of the Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles since 1992. 

Before moving to Los Angeles, he served as the top professional executive of the Allied Jewish Community Services in Montreal.  Prior to that, he was Executive Director of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) and planning associate at the Federation of Jewish Agencies of Greater Philadelphia.

John Fishel holds a BA and an MA from the University of Michigan.

John Fishel has been an Associate Member of the Board of Governors since September 2002.
