On Wednesday August 2nd, the Farewell Reception for Moshe Ben-Ami took place at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Over 90 people from Miami's Jewish community, including top leadership of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, Rabbis, school principals, students, friends, shlichim, and of course olim gathered together to say "Shalom  U L' hitraot"  to Moshe Ben-Ami upon the completion of his term of shlichut.

Speakers at the event included Federation President Sabi Behar, Executive Vice President Jacob Solomon, and Michael Landsberg on behalf of the Jewish Agency for Israel (and many friends and colleagues). Michael Landsberg presented the 'Excellent Shaliach Award' on behalf of JAFI, as well as some personal presents. The Federation expressed its appreciation for Moshe with a farewell cocktail party and a beautiful warm celebration.

Michael Landsberg spoke in detail with all those in attendance about JAFI's project during the current crisis, including "Bringing children to the center" and helping equip more than 1,600 shelters in Israel with needed equipment. This news - together with the warm tone of this event - support the creation of a strong partnership between JAFI, UJC-Federation, and the people (like Moshe Ben-Ami), who truly make the difference.
