Likud and Labor Primaries

(November - December 2002)

These major primaries will provide not only leaders for the two major Israeli political parties, but also the contender for Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the ensuing General Elections.

The Labor Party primary will be held on Nov 19.

There are three candidates:

Binyamin Ben Eliezer

Haim Ramon

Amram Mitzna

 

Elections to choose the Likud Party chairman will take place on Nov 28, and the vote for the party's candidate list will be held on Dec 8.

There are two candidates:

Ariel Sharon

Benjamin Netanyahu
