| KEDMA students celebrate Purim with the kindergarten children |
Purim was celebrated at Nitzana in flamboyant fashion. For most of the Russian speaking and Ethiopian born newcomers in the SELAH Science and KEDMA programs who celebrated the festival, this was their first-ever Purim in Israel. Festivities included a costume carnival and competition and a noisy reading from the Book pf Esther. The immigrant students received Mishloach Manot from children in the kindergartens at the nearby school.
Special guest at Nitzana for Purim was the village's founder Lova Eliav. The veteran Zionist pioneer and former Knesset Member came dressed as King Ahasuerus.
