The Jewish National Fund (JNF-Keren Kayemeth Le-Yisrael) has started a three-month special counselors program for the 20 Shin-Shinim volunteers who are starting their service at Nitzana as well as a group of girls participating in the Sherut Leumi National Service program and 20 Shin-Shinim from Kibbutz Lotan. The program emphasizes knowledge of the geography and history of Israel and the Negev in particular and its place in Jewish heritage. There are also leadership development programs in the comprehensive curriculum. Upon graduating the program the participants also will become licensed tour guides and counselors.
