Nachum Katz is stepping down as Director of Hadassah Neurim after more than four years as head of the Youth Aliyah village.
He will become the Senior Representative of the Jewish Agency’s Israel Department in New York in the summer.
“I was just in the Dining Room and some students and village employees came up to me and said tell me you are not really leaving,” he said. “That makes me sad to be going.
But I have no regrets you have to move forward in life.
At Hadassah Neurim I have been able to help 500 teenagers at a time, if I succeed in my new job I will be able to help many more.”
Katz, 51, took over at Hadassah Neurim in March 2003.
He had led a major transformation in the village, which has seen economic reorganization and rehabilitation, confidence in the future of the village restored in the eyes of Hadassah Neurim’s staff and the academic performance of the students considerably improved.
