Bernard Weiss, President of Youth Aliyah Australia Committee visited Ben Yakir and Neurim during November. At Ben Yakir he unveiled plaques in the dormitories to mark the installation of air conditioners and heaters in five dormitories, which will improve conditions at the residential village. At Neurim Weiss saw the completion of the first stage of the Education Center, which is already in operation and was renovated with a generous donation from YA Australia.

To mark Youth Aliyah's 70th anniversary Bernard Weiss delivered warm greetings. "Youth Aliyah Australia is proud to be part of the worldwide celebrations. Youth Aliyah was formed to rescue Jewish youth from the Nazi threat and although Australia was furthest away from the horrors of the Holocaust, per capita it has the most Holocaust survivors. We still have people here who were rescued by Youth Aliyah and will never forget."

"Our function is now to rescue disadvantaged youth in Israel from a life, which would otherwise be without hope. Youth Aliyah Australia supports special projects, at least one per year, to give these children successful and purposeful lives." Bernard Weiss, President; Sol Schonberger, Treasurer; Valerie Hosek and Adi Schwartz, devoted workers in Australia and regular visitors to Israel.

"We wish you Mazel tov."
