Yossi Krothamer, Director of Ben Yakir, says that while Youth Aliyah is able to offer more opportunities than ever before, students are also likely to feel more frustrated. “Thanks to our supporters and friends worldwide who include Canadian Hadassah-WIZO,” he said, “we are able to provide things we never dreamed off like horseriding and computers with Internet connection.”
Rochelle Levinson, National President CHW and Lily Frank, National Executive Vice-President congratulationed Youth Aliyah during their January visit to Ben Yakir. "On behalf of Canadian Hadassah-WIZO, we would like to extend our most heartfelt wishes on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the founding of Youth Aliyah.
There is indeed much to make us proud in our long association with Youth Aliyah. We know that by continuing to contribute to this extremely worthy cause over the past decades, we have all helped to enrich the lives of tens of thousands of young people, and have in this special way played a part in the strengthening of the State of Israel."
"Our partnership has included sponsorship of youth villages such as Acco and Hofim, and now Ben Yakir, all of which have offered warm and caring boarding facilities and enhanced educational programs to needy immigrant and Israeli children."
"We have also helped thousands of young people through remedial and motivational activities at CHW schools such as CHW Hadassim Children and Youth Village, and CHW Nahalal Community and Comprehensive School, as well as through the therapeutic services of the world-renowned Hadassah-WIZO Canada" Research Institute in Jerusalem under the directorship of Prof. Reuven Feuerstein."
