Traditionally, the Atidim program has focused almost solely on academic achievement. The Jewish Agency's involvement in Atidim adds another important facet to the program - introducing participants to values related to Jewish peoplehood awareness:
- Empowerment Program: Pre-Atidim pupils take part in a series of workshops which develop their leadership skills. The workshops start by helping the pupils investigate their personal identity, gradually expanding the focus to additional circles of identity - culminating in investigating their identity as members of the global Jewish community.
- Summer Programs: Over 100 Pre-Atidim pupils took part in intensive summer programs involving peers from the Diaspora; these programs lasted a minimum of week. A further 200 pupils took part in "values-based" summer camps at locations such as Nitzana and the Migal Educational Campus in Kiryat Shmona.
- Interaction with Masa-Otzma: About 30 recently-arrived Otzma volunteers are volunteering with the Pre-Atidim program, strengthening the English skills of several hundred Pre-Atidim pupils in an informal setting.
