The Peace Quilt was created by all the Friedel students, ages 5-12. Before we began creating, we discussed the role each one of us can have in bringing " peace" to our classrooms, homes, communities, and then to our world. The emphasis was on the fact that each one of us has a unique and valuable role to play in the "peace" process. Like a jigsaw puzzle... which cannot be completed without every single piece.... we must realize that "our piece of the puzzle" is valuable and crucial at every moment toward making the world a better place. We discussed how we can bring "peace" in the smallest and biggest ways, realizing that all of these "pieces of the puzzle" are important and when not acted upon, are missed opportunities that leave our puzzle incomplete!
