They are young - just 19-25 years old. They come from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Netanya, cities, kibbutzim and moshavim. Some have served in the Israeli Defense Forces and others haven't. Some have studied in college, some have only completed high school. But they all share one thing - a passion for dance, and together they are the Kibbutz Gaaton Dance Group.
On Sunday, February 17, the group performed at the Kentucky Center for the Arts before a crowd of nearly 500 to kick off Louisville's celebration of Israel@60. At a festive dessert reception following the performance, members of the community were able to meet and talk with the dancers.
