A three way program for high school students (Israeli Arabs and Jews, and non Israeli students) supported by the Humanistic center at the GFH.
The fundamental outlook is that dealing with the subject of the Holocaust leads to an understanding of the importance of humanistic and democratic values, and instills tools for moral judgment and civic responsibility. Indifference to the suffering of another, or to an attack on human rights, endangers the existence of all society.
The Humanistic center at the GFH believe that dealing with the subject of the Holocaust raises fundamental questions of the existence of the human race and human nature; it can bring about empathy, bridge between individuals of differing backgrounds and cultures, and clarify what they have in common.
The objective of the program is to instill in its partners the knowledge and understanding of the events of the Holocaust, and the ability to enter into dialogue and joint study. The program initiates multicultural encounters in which in-depth discussion will take place, dealing with the individual human and universalistic significances of the Holocaust, within Israeli society and outside it.
