A 15 student delegation from Hasten Hebrew Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana, headed by Rabbi Raphael Nemetzky, the school principal, visited the Amit Kennedy school in Akko on April 21, 2004. The visit was in the framework of the school twinning program of Partnership 2000, a program of the Jewish Agency for Israel.
The Amit students prepared a warm welcome for their friends from Indianapolis, the students enjoyed joint activities and together marked Holocaust Memorial Day.
PARTNERSHIP 2000 promotes people-to-people relationships between our Jewish community and Israel's Western Galilee through cultural, social, educational and economic programs. Indianapolis, along with 12 other cities in the central United States, is linked with the Western Galilee, located in the most northern part of Israel on (along) the Mediterranean coast.
