Project "Yitzhak" - International Art in the Western Galilee

A unique international art project sponsored by the Jewish Agency's "Partnership 2000" called upon artists from all fields and invited them to propose an unlimited range of artistic projects that reflected on the issue of "Yitzhak". The artists were called upon to propose projects that deal with the significance derived from the name, various objects, known personalities and areas of religion, e.g. name/behavior/concepts/personality/stories, etc.

A highlight event in which the participating artists from Israel and from all the consortium communities as well will exhibit their work, participate in various workshops and discussions on the subject will take place during the summer of 2005 in the Western Galilee region.

Area choirs, dance troupes and song ensembles as well as many prominent painters and sculptors are among those registered as participants in the project.

Artists interested in participating in the project are invited to contact Shlomit Dagan-Deri the Yitzhak coordinator: shlomitd@jafi.org

Partnership with Israel promotes people-to-people relationships between our Jewish community and Israel's Western Galilee through cultural, social, educational and economic programs along with 12 other cities in the central United States, is linked with the Western Galilee, located in the most northern part of Israel on (along) the Mediterranean coast.
