On Monday September 15, 2008, members of the P2K sponsored YAD group in the Karmiel-Misgav region got together with children from the Karmiel Children's Village to prepare Rosh Hashanah cards for the Pittsburgh area families that have "adopted" the children for the past year.
The concept behind this activity was that it was a wonderful way for the children who throughout the year receive a lot of love, attention and gifts from their Pittsburgh families to "repay" them for their love and kindness with a humble handmade gift of appreciation at the start of the new year.
All of the families involved asked to participate in the "Pampering Families" project and developed on going, year-round relationships with the children from the Children's Village.
The YAD group (Partnership 2000 Young Adult Leadership) has been active in P2K and the area for the past two years. At the beginning of September, Rebecca Shmuel, from the Misgav community of Rakefet was elected to serve as co-chairperson together with Yuval Kisus from Karmiel.

Rebecca replaced the outgoing co-chairman, Tzachi Levy who recently left for South Africa as a WZO shaliach. Each year one of the chairpersons rotates from his/her position and a new candidate is elected.
