Exhibition Of Art And Judaica
From Washington And Beit Shemesh
5.10.2006

As part of Partnership 2000 of the Jewish Agency, 40 artists from Washington and Beit Shemesh will participate in an exhibition that will take place as part of the events of the 7th Beit Shemesh Festival of Jewish Rock and Soul Music

The many musical and cultural events that will take place as part of the upcoming Beit Shemesh Festival from October 8-10, 2006, during the Intermediate Days of Succot, will be topped off by an exhibition of art and Judaica from Washington and Beit Shemesh.

The exhibition is the result of cooperation between professionals from Beit Shemesh-Yehuda Plains and from Washington as part of the mutual relations promoted by Partnership 2000.

Last June, the Jewish community in Washington hosted 10 artistic creations from Beit Shemesh-Yehuda Plains in an exhibition of Golden Age artists. It is now the turn of local artists to host the creations of their colleagues in Washington.

The artists in Washington will be represented in Beit Shemesh by Ruth Assal, a painter and calligrapher from Washington. Among the dozens of artworks to be exhibited will be 15 paintings, sculptures and photographs from Washington.

Simultaneous with the exhibition, there will be concerts by students of the Beit Shemesh Conservatory - Tslilei Hakeshet and Tslilim Berama. The activities for children will include workshops for thinking and logic games and other hands-on activities for the whole family. In addition, the crowd will be able to relax in the Caf? in the Succa.

The exhibition will be open to the general public with no admission charge on Monday and Tuesday, October 9-10 from 12:00-18:00 at the Ramat Beit Shemesh Community Center at 16 Nahal Dolev Street.
