Net@ Students are the Chosen Team from the Beit Shean Region

1.12.2005

Seventy Net@ students, together with their parents, filled the Music Hall for a ceremony which included an introduction to the project for beginning students and their parents, and a graduation ceremony including diplomas for students who completed their first year.

The Net@ project of Partnership 2000 includes students from the city and region, who learn during the afternoon hours exceptionally high studies for becoming PC technicians and Networking Managers. The learning material is in English and they study online through advanced technology.

Jacky Levi, the Mayor of Beit Shean greeted: ""I wish you success and thank the partners of the project. And to the students, even though it's difficult, don't give up because the efforts are worth it." he added. "You are the chosen team and young leadership from the Beit Shean Region," congratulated Miri Livne on behalf of Yael Shaltieli, the Mayor of the Beit Shean Valley Regional Council. "The real challenge," continued Anat Sharvit, Partnership 2000 Regional Manager, "is to create, today, a foundation which will allow Net@ graduates to return to the region and develop it."

This year, 2005-6, is the second year of the project and this year includes 70 students. Following the success of the program in the Beit Shean Region, mainly due to the instructors of the program - Yigal Larry, Doron Ratzabi, and Matan Beilin, Cisco Systems has decided to establish a Call Center for computers which will be run by the students.

Bar-Zohar Peretz isn't only a Net@ student, he's also a talented singer who sang as part of the ceremony.

Brenda Sbarsky, from Beit Shean, and Gal Sela, from Kibbutz Hamadiya, received excellence awards in addition to their certificate of completion.
