NOAR LENOAR VOLUNTEERS DELIVER GIFTS AND GREETINGS FROM CLEVELAND

NOAR LENOAR VOLUNTEERS DELIVER GIFTS AND GREETINGS FROM CLEVELAND
by Noar LeNoar Youth Group Members - Beit Shean Region

On Wednesday morning of the Hanukkah vacation, Noar LeNoar members met in Cleveland House for another round of activities for community residents. Despite the murderous terror attack a few days earlier, we decided to continue our routine.

We went to an army camp, where we met the soldiers who protect us day and night. This visit was the high point of the day. The soldiers gave us a warm welcome and we distributed gifts to the soldiers of an elite army unit - tote bags purchased on behalf of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland. Each bag had a note from Cleveland's campaign leadership:

"This gift from the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland is sent to you on behalf of the Campaign For Jewish Needs leadership. The Campaign raises money to support educational and social services that save lives and meet the needs of children, families and the elderly in Cleveland, in Israel and in Jewish communities worldwide. Each year, campaign leaders are given a gift in appreciation for carrying out the mission of the campaign. The 2002 leadership chose to honor you with their gifts instead. This gesture is a reminder that the Cleveland community stands in solidarity with Israel and her people"

This special day showed us the importance of the supportive environment in which we live and the importance of our connection with the Cleveland community. It pointed out our responsibility to invest in our immediate environment and in our ties with Cleveland and the need to contribute to the safety and security of Israel.

We would like to thank all those who imagine, plan and initiate Partnership 2000 activities in Cleveland and the Beit Shean region. They teach us about the various spheres of our lives and how important they each are.
