MERAV MAYOR: THANKS CLEVELAND JEWISH COMMUNITY!
by Yaron Shafir, Mayor, Kibbutz Merav
The Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland has been at the forefront of support for our growing community since we suffered the loss of Aliza Malka at the hands of Palestinian terrorists.
We appreciate your immediate show of support in providing for our security needs.
ur entire Beit Shean community suffered another terrible blow after the recent terror attack (on Thanksgiving). Through the efforts of the Cleveland Beit She'an Partnership 2000, we saw the closeness of the Cleveland community, as well as the city and regional council of Beit She'an.
The terrorists responsible for this horrific act were from Jilabun, our "sister" city (as were the killers of Aliza), just across the road. How unfortunate that our efforts for co-existence with our neighbors over the last many years have now been met by the need to build higher and higher fences between us. The Cleveland Jewish community should be proud of its work in our region and has shown its true strength during these difficult times. Thank you again for your generosity.
