Bobba Bluma in the Arava
7.1.2008

So how's by you? Me, I'm still here in the Arava, visiting with my daughter now that she finally came back from Australia. It turns out the 2000 Partnerships are for making connections with the Jewish community, but not for dating. Maybe they could use a shadchan, I could ask, it couldn't hurt. And who knew there were Jews out there, I thought it was all goyim with cowboy hats and crocodiles. But my daughter, she says that there are lots of good Jews there (such a shame that she didn't find anyone, I would be so thrilled if she met a nice Jewish boy that makes a good living, then I could die happy).

Some things in Israel aren't like I thought, some of the people they eat tref, and the girls, their clothes are so tight, and you can see the pupik. Where are their Bobbas? And the food, it's different. The vegetables are beautiful, the tomatoes and peppers on the moshav, like a picture in a magazine. But in the supermarket they don't know from bagels and lox, and not one good piece of meat in the whole shop. Chicken, they all eat chicken. In Brooklyn my Max used to go down to Finkelstein's and get a brisket you could die for, like butter. But you know me, I never make a fuss.

Now my daughter is back she drove me around to see a few things, I finally got out of the house. Such naches to see how the people here they made the desert green, like Ben Gurion said. And the Jewish people from Australia, so generous, I see how they help with many things. Like the art show, my daughter she took me to the opening and introduced me to the Mayor. Such a nice man, and so handsome! And all the people said such nice things about the pictures. Me I don't know from the modern art, I like a picture of a nice piece of fruit, and it should match the sofa, but what does a Bobba know?

Gottenyu, the daughter-in-law is letting the baby touch the cat, I have to go and put a stop! Nu, a Bobba's work is never done, I'll have to stay a little longer.
