90% of Arava residents earn their living in agriculture, constituting about 500 families, 80 of them families of returning second‑generation residents.

Chief industry – peppers for export (about 80,000 tons per season), constituting 60% of Israel’s total pepper exports.

Melons – 250 hectares (about 615 acres).

Flowers – 200 hectares (about 500 acres).

6 export companies market Arava produce.

Estimated turnover – $140 million in exports and NIS 150 million on the local market.
