Education and Community Task Forces – Nahariya Partnership

Partnership 2000: Nahariya-Northern New Jersey

The Nahariya Partnership has been active for the past two years in three areas: education, community and health. Three task forces have been established in these areas on both the Israeli and American sides. The Community Task Force is made up of volunteers who are community figures in the region; the Education Task Force is made up of principals and teachers from high schools and elementary schools in Nahariya. The task forces meet monthly and the meeting is followed by a conference call with the American task force. The two sides discuss projects (exchange of delegations, Young Counselors, athletes, etc.) and their budgets. Representatives of both task forces will attend the Young Leadership Conference.

    Art Project

Our first project has been launched…

An exhibition on the theme of "Two Communities and one Judaism". Five branches of the Nahariya Community Center and three Community Centers in Northern New Jersey presented their creations in a joint exhibition. The works presented were the result of a year of study which started in September 2004 and included a variety of themes, including the Jewish Festivals, Jerusalem, Jewish symbols, Shabbat, etc. The works were of various types, including tapestries, painted glass, appliqu?, etc. The exhibition was presented to the pubic for a week during the month of June in one of the Community Center branches. In October, the exhibition will be shipped to one of the Community Centers in Northern New Jersey.
