A Celebration for Jewish Women
A Celebration of Jewish Peoplehood
A Celebration of Israel

In honor of Israel's 60th Celebration of Independence, the Jewish Agency's Partnership 2000 program is joining one of Israel's boldest initiatives for women - Geographic Tour's "Desert Queen" Jeep Expedition. This is an exciting and unique way to bring together women from Israel and across the Jewish world for what has proven to be a lifetime experience.

Partnership 2000 invites you to be one of 60 adventuresome women who will take part in a "Desert Queen" jeep expedition in Israel. We invite women who like the outdoors, are physically fit, and enjoy coping with challenges. The competition is open to women over the age of 20 with a valid driver's license.

"Desert Queen" combines a competitive outdoor adventure & 4WD driving expedition with personal development and fulfillment. "Desert Queen" has been a leader in women's empowerment & social responsibility - having uniquely touched the lives of literally thousands of women in Israel.  Participants are put to the test as individuals - and no less important - as a team.

The expedition will last six days, and will take place in the south of Israel, in locations such as Nahal Mamshit, Yeruham, Mitzpe Ramon, Maale Akrabim, and so on and so forth. The expedition will include challenging activities, and unique experiences such as a visit with in development towns, a tour inside Israeli army bases, and involvement with an ecological project. The expedition itself takes place in outdoors conditions, and the participants are required to deal with physical, mental, and organizational challenges. The actual trail is kept confidential by the organizers and its details will be provided to the participants every evening.

Through Partnership 2000's "People-to-People" initiative, youth, students, professionals and women from Israel & overseas Jewish communities come together in a vast array of exciting programs of direct interaction and engagement.  Desert Queen is the latest addition to our list.

The Desert Queen jeep expedition will take place September 16-22, 2008

Participation in Queen of the Desert 2008 is conditional on the payment of a $1,200 fee, covering vehicle use, fuel, full board and participation in the one day acquaintance and integration, as well as the expedition itself.
