Louis B. Stein (1858-1949) (USA)

Father of modern bowling, he helped establish the American Bowling Congress in 1895 (along with Samuel Karpf). Stein was one of the first to write about bowling and established 300 as the score in tenpin bowling and the 16 pound ball as standard. He was elected to the Bowling Hall of Fame in 1997.
