Camille Pissarro (1830 -1903)

Camille Pissarro

Camille Pissarro - Of Sephardic extraction, he became an important Impressionist painter and teacher. He mostly painted the busy streets of Paris and landscapes.   He was associated with Monet and Corot. In the last years of his life he achieved recognition, and although suffering from an eye ailment painted 160 works in three years. An argument between his doctors about the proper treatment  brought on his death  from blood poisoning.
