Voices and Faces from Israel

November 23, 2003 - December 2, 2003
A young dynamic team brought Zionism to Russian speaking communities throughout
Germany via an Aliyah Caravan.

Andre Gur, the Shaliach to Germany from the Aliyah Department of JAFI, two Israeli students and an Israeli singer, spent ten days traveling to eight communities throughout Germany, bringing Israel to Russian Jews living in Germany. The young dynamic Russian speaking team met primarily with young people and shared with them their personal experiences as young olim who have chosen Israel as their home. They were enthusiastically received with between ten to forty people at each gathering. The Aliyah Caravan, with its combination of singing and discussions, is a successful tool to put Israel on the agenda in these communities. The Caravan was sponsored by the Aliyah Department of the Jewish Agency and the Department for Zionist Activities of the WZO.
