More than seven hundred people came together to listen to and be entirely won over by the Israeli Singer David Broza.
Broza, born in Israel, was taken to Spain by his parents when young and stayed until nineteen before returning for Army service and to live. The incredible virtuosity of his authentic Flamenco style guitar playing coupled with energy and attack, rarely seen, drove the audience into a frenzy of singing and dancing. How his guitar remained in tune or even in one piece was a heaven sent miracle.
His repertoire, mainly songs, as he said, about peace and love was much applauded by his many fans in the audience while those who had never heard him before were initiated into an exciting world of rhythm and song. It was a musical night to remember and he has certainly increased his worldwide fan base. The audience received a further bonus - the opportunity to meet with and purchase signed CDs from Broza.
The concert was honoured by the presence of His Excellency Zvi Hefez, the new Ambassador of Israel and patron of the Zionist Federation, a gesture much appreciated in view of his busy schedule. The ZF takes much pride in and very much values its relationship with the Israel Embassy, its staff and past Ambassadors. It has pledged to do all it can to aid and assist the Embassy in any way it can through commerce, Hasbara and in any other feasible way.
