Mission from Venezuela

May 12, 2008 / 7 Iyar 5768

140 members of the Venezuelan Jewish Community visited Israel. A number of the participants, leaders of the community, arrived in Israel after participating in March of the Living in Poland.

Soon after their arrival in Israel, they visited with Jewish Agency Chairman Zeev Bielski and other senior administrative personnel to discuss ways to promote aliyah and education.

Their visit also included a moving experience at the Karmiel Absorption Center where members of the mission heard personal aliyah stories, as well as an American immigrant's experience during the Second Lebanon War.  The staff and new immigrants thanked the mission participants for their financial support and continued friendship.
