The fund for Victims of Terror established by the Jewish Agency for Israel grants direct supplemental assistance to victims of terrorist activity who have sustained injuries since January 1st, 2006. Headed by a judge, the fund includes representatives of the National Insurance Institute, the ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Absorption and the Jewish Agency.
Assistance is provided to victims of terror who are residents of Israel, with special emphasis on the unique needs of the population of new immigrants ("Olim"), which suffers from absorption hardships, limited resources and insufficient acquaintance with the established institutions of the State of Israel in general and in this area in particular.
In these difficult times, the Jewish Agency, as an organization operating to strengthen the Jewish people in Israel and abroad, has undertaken to reestablish the fund, together with Jewish federations and donors from around the world (through UJC and Keren Hayesod).
The fund includes an advisory committee consisting of representatives of the donors and a professional committee which meets regularly to discuss requests, the members of which are representatives of the Jewish Agency and official aid institutions of the State.
