After spending a few days in Gondar and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, two major donor delegations, the first from Vancouver, Canada and the second a Flight Mission from the United States, accompanied new immigrants from Ethiopia on their aliyah flight to Israel. On March 22, they landed at Ben Gurion Airport, accompanied the olim into the absorption hall, and witnessed the preliminary absorption process and subsequently visited the absorption center in Lod.

The delegation toured the ulpan, the computer center and a kindergarten. Following the tour it observed a model seder which took place at the center's clubhouse. The seder was intended to demonstrate to the immigrants, who will celebrate the holiday for their first time in Israel, how the seder is conducted, familiarize them with the holidays songs, recount the Exodus from Egypt in the context of their own immigration from exile to freedom.

The Vancouver delegation was greatly impressed by the intense desire of the immigrants to learn about the holiday, they joined in the singing and enjoyed the atmosphere together with the rest of the audience.
Despite their accumulated fatigue, the product of a few sleepless nights, they had an extraordinary experience and sensed a deep obligation to help bring more olim from Ethiopia and facilitate their absorption in Israel.
