The Neiger family from Ohio, USA held Israeli flags as they greeted 100 new immigrants from Ethiopia at the Ben Gurion Airport. The Neiger’s watched as the new immigrants took their first steps to becoming Israeli citizens in the immigrant hall at the airport.
With the aid of a dictionary provided by the Missions Department, the three Neiger children developed an excellent rapport with a number of the immigrant children. They were able to get to know each other and ask questions. The experience afforded a pleasant exchange between Jews from different corners of the world and served as a bridge between cultures.
