With the assistance of a generous grant of $250,000 from the Crown Foundation in Chicago, the Jewish Agency’s latest program - Youth Futures - started this year in Tiberias. The Jewish Agency will double the donation each year, so that in 2006-2007, 2,250,000 NIS will be invested in the area. The Project 2000 branch in Tiberias is administering and supervising the program. The mayor of Tiberias, Zohar Oved, praised the project in a joint meeting with the Crown Foundation’s representative Marvin Cohen and the director general of the Jewish Agency Israel department, Leah Golan. Oved expressed his satisfaction and promised the municipalities full cooperation in implementing the program.
