Each of us radiates a small light, Together we glow strong and bright

The Jewish Agency for Israel lights Channukah candles together with Jewish communities around the world.

On Tuesday, 27th December 2005, the Jewish Agency will hold a grand Channukah candle-lighting ceremony with Jewish communities around the world.

During this ceremony, Jewish Agency emissaries will light candles in fifteen communities around the world, together with many olim and veteran groups in Israel, who are members of programs for young adults, such as SELA and Babait Beyachad,which connects new olim with veteran Israelis.

The main ceremony will be held at the Western Wall plaza at 19:00 (Israel time), with the attendance of prominent figures, including the Chairman of the Jewish Agency, Mr. Zeev Bielski.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on the Army Radio and the website of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.

  • Istanbul
  • Paris
  • Marseilles
  • Berlin
  • Kiev
  • Dnipropetrovsk
  • Kharkov
  • Moscow
  • Rostov
  • Piatiagorsk
  • St. Petersburg
  • Minsk
  • Kimberley, South Africa
  • Sweden – winter camps
  • Stuttgart – winter camps

The ceremony will be conducted by the Immigration & Absorption Department, together with the Education Department and the Israel Department of the Jewish Agency for Israel.
