Ms. Miriam Feirberg (WZO)

Board Member

Miriam Feirberg is the Mayor of Natanya, a city of 180,000 residents. This culminates a career of service to the city, which began in 1972 when, as a newly graduated social worker, she began working in the social welfare department of the Netanya Municipality.

 

She moved into city management Welfare Department and took over as Manager of the Social Services Department. In 1998, she was nominated and served as Director of the Education, Welfare and Health Division of the Municipality. As such she supervised the provision of municipal services in a wide variety of fields including education, culture, Youth, sport, welfare, immigration, absorption, voluntarism and suburban services of the city.

 

Her education includes an M.A in Social Work from the Bar Ilan University and a B.A in Sociology & Criminology from the Bar Ilan University.

 

Miriam served as a member of the city council of Netanya, CEO of the Joint Cities fire Association, was a member of the directorate of the companies “Mekorot”, “Culture, Youth and Sports Centers” and “ Magen David Adom”, member of the National Council of the Jubilee Celebrations.

As of 2004 she heads the Israeli Forum of Coastal Towns, member of the District Committee for Planning & Construction.

 

Miriam Feirberg is a Member of the JAFI Board of Governors since June 2005.
