Mr. Meir Cohen is the Mayor of the city of Dimona since November 2003. He was born in Morocco, made Aliyah to Israel in 1962, he moved to Dimona in 1967.

Meir Cohen has a BA degree from Ben Gurion University - he studied history of the Jewish people and Jewish Thought. In addition, he has a Master's degree in Jewish Philosophy from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He is an educator by profession.

Mr. Cohen is a Member of the Jewish Agency Board of Governors since June 2005.
