Fund for the Victims of Terror

History
The Fund for the Victims of Terror, founded by the Jewish Agency for Israel, was first established in 2002 and closed at the end of 2005.  In 2006, due to the increased violence and terror in Israel, it was decided to reopen the Fund with modified criteria and principles than those that guided the original Fund. In 2008, due to the unrelenting barrage on Israel’ s Western Negev, the Jewish Agency and the Fund for Victims for Terror stepped in to provide immediate emergency relief to the victims, helping hundreds of individuals and families.

Purpose
The goal of the Fund is to provide Israel’s victims of terror with direct financial assistance, complementing the monetary relief they receive from government agencies and offices.  The support provided by the Fund is designed to improve the quality of life for the victims and their families, to ease their recovery and rehabilitation.

Partners
The Fund's work is made possible by the support of the Israel Emergency Campaign of the United Jewish Communities, in addition to donations from Keren Hayesod and others. Similarly, the Fund's wide-range of intervention and assistance is the result of the sincere and dedicated joint effort of the Jewish Agency, Social Security offices, and the Ministry of Defense.
